As we progress in the world, things change. While we might have experienced physical punishments for misbehaving, nowadays children are given time outs, and are grounded for their misdeeds. This shows the treatment of children is getting better. Physical punishment is rumored to cause mental health issues later in adult life. National Children's Month aims to assist kids who have faced abuse, poverty, natural disasters, and violence.

This Children's Month, I hope to not only remind you of your childhood, but to also shed light on the situation of children in todays world. The hope that children will be seen more than just annoying spoiled brats is a bit much, but at least the notion of children as our future will be recognized.
